Choosing to be the Genuine Article

I attended an all-day out-of-town training yesterday with a nationally known coach in the hopes of learning some new techniques to make me better at my business. (Sincere thank you here to Chicago Title-Debbie Donaldson for sponsoring my entry.) I learned some things about myself and our industry that left me unsettled.

The basics of sales and contract management haven't changed. Reminders about these back-to-basics, tried-and-true methods were valuable, and I'm glad I went for this alone.

But, it was a little uncomfortable to realize that I'm apparently a Luddite, which seems a complete contradiction to me because I'm immersed in technology to do my job effectively. Most of the training day was spent teaching me that if I wanted to grow my business, I must use AI incessantly. This included how to get AI to create blogs, videos and CONTENT for me without my input, and that posting a huge volume of this AI created content on multiple platforms was the way to succeed.

NOPE. Not me. Anything you see posted by me was written with my own two (imperfect!) hands, from ideas I thought worthwhile to share. I'll continue to interface with the handful of platforms that make sense to me. I choose not to play this insane whack-a-mole game of content and platforms. I guess we'll see if I'm still around in five years to continue to contribute to a meaningful conversation. (I think I will be!)

(My thanks to CHEEZburger for the AI-generated image above.)
